Giving false birthdate

A few times Church members have been charged with giving a false birthdate to a police officer. Some Church members when asked for a birthdate by a police officer give their date of rebirth or baptism. These members have zealously followed the scripture, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"43 They take this message to heart and forsake their physical birthdate. It is of no relevance to them in the Kingdom. If they have any birthdate, it is the day of their rebirth or baptism. This date might make the Church member only one or two years old.

When a spiritual birthdate is given to a police officer, you'd think he'd say, "No, I need a physical birthdate." Instead, some officers write down the date and then cite the Church member with giving false information to a police officer. It is truly incredible, but a few people have been found guilty of giving false information because they gave the police officer a spiritual birthdate, instead of a physical one. To avoid this problem, don't give the police officer any birthdate.

Giving a physical birthdate provides the police with a link back to the old man's records and is evidence that you still acknowledge the date on your state birth certificate.

One judge told us there is no statute requiring someone to give a birthdate. Therefore, you cannot be charged with giving a false birthdate if you don't give any birthdate. Police want a birthdate to help locate you in their criminal records system. If you are not being supervised by them, they do not need a birthdate. But the police may threaten you:

"If you don't give me a birthdate, I'm hauling you to jail."

"Whether you haul me to jail or not, my birthdate is still none of your business!"

"But we need to identify you."

"I have identified myself. I have told you who I am, who I work for and where I can be reached."

"Yes, but we need to locate you in our system of records."

"I'm not under state supervision. I'm under Church supervision. You won't find me in your computers because I'm not one of yours."

The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.
