As you continue in your new life as a citizen of the nation of Heaven, you may have many confrontations with those who are jealous of your liberty. There's a war raging against Jesus and His followers.
When you are confronted by one of Caesar's officers, remember what prisoners of war are taught: give the enemy only your name, rank and serial number. For us that means our name, office and nation, or more simply, our name and authority. We would say, Joe Humble, Ambassador of Jesus Christ, of the nation of Heaven; or Mark Godfreed, Steward of Jesus Christ, of the nation of Heaven.
When you give Caesar's officers your name and office, you are in the free zone. They have no authority to regulate any office of the Church. If we provide only our name, we will undoubtedly be mistaken for a state-generated "person" whom Caesar regulates. But if we confess our office, and the One who sent us, Caesar has no business with us.
A soldier of the world who comes under enemy attack does not answer the foreign officer's questions. Neither do we. We provide the officer with our name and office, plus the Church driving documents showing our authority. Nothing else is their business. We don't need to answer their questions because Caesar does not regulate the Church. Our office is regulated by Heaven.
When a law enforcement officer accuses an individual, he is not coming against a warm-blooded human being. He is accusing an office that the state created. He is enforcing the state statutes that bind those in the common office of "person."
Glory to God, Jesus Christ has set us free from the offices regulated by men. Yes, we must endure hardship. We will be persecuted for being a new creature. But if we continue to live in Him and remain faithful to our office, we will overcome all the power of the enemy.
Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
